140628 Sayaka update

I moved Sayaka's mouth upwards, made her nose longer, made her chin longer, and cleaned up the back and sides.

140623 Sayaka/Hibiki update

I started adjusting the thickness of Sayaka's hair spikes, and also tried joining them to the base (although I will have to re-join them once they are all adjusted). I have also started adjusting the shell. I am going to be concentrating on the shell for the next little bit (one thing I definitely have to do is make her nose a bit longer), since Homura will be based on much the same shell and I want to make sure that she is done before Animethon.

I adjusted Hibiki's nose, cheeks and mouth some more

Pictures from the Edmonton Pride Festival; Hibiki/Sayaka progress updates

Last Saturday I kigged at the Edmonton Pride Festival (my friend Matthew suggested that I kig there). I didn't walk in the parade or anything (it was already over when I got there). I would say I prefer kigging at cons, although I still enjoyed kigging there.

I had to discard my previous attempt at making Sayaka's hair. Rather than making it by pulling the spikes out of the base using the "grab" and "snake hook" tools (which produced spikes that wouldn't sculpt cleanly since Blender's sculpting tools don't add polygons automatically), I am now making them as separate objects and will join them to a separate base using booleans (both the base and spikes are NURBS models that were converted to meshes). I haven't joined the spikes to the base yet, so they are still quite rough especially at the top (it's only really possible to clean that up once they've all been joined).

I think I've mostly got Hibiki's general shape right, but she still needs quite a few adjustments.
