Pictures from the Edmonton Pride Festival; Hibiki/Sayaka progress updates

Last Saturday I kigged at the Edmonton Pride Festival (my friend Matthew suggested that I kig there). I didn't walk in the parade or anything (it was already over when I got there). I would say I prefer kigging at cons, although I still enjoyed kigging there.

I had to discard my previous attempt at making Sayaka's hair. Rather than making it by pulling the spikes out of the base using the "grab" and "snake hook" tools (which produced spikes that wouldn't sculpt cleanly since Blender's sculpting tools don't add polygons automatically), I am now making them as separate objects and will join them to a separate base using booleans (both the base and spikes are NURBS models that were converted to meshes). I haven't joined the spikes to the base yet, so they are still quite rough especially at the top (it's only really possible to clean that up once they've all been joined).

I think I've mostly got Hibiki's general shape right, but she still needs quite a few adjustments.
